Alaska Court Records

The Alaska Courts website helps the public to understand and navigate the judicial system within Alaska. It identifies the state’s courts and explains their functions and jurisdiction over case proceedings. In addition, it reveals information on the hierarchy in the judicial system, from trial-level courts to the appellate system, which has the highest judicial authority in the state. The trial court system comprises the AL Superior Courts and the District Courts. In contrast, the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court make up the appellate court system in Alaska.

Under the Alaska Rules of Court, Alaska Courts System allows the public to access various court records, including case files, initiating documents, and decrees. The state law also outlines citizens’ right to inspect and copy records in the custody of government agencies at different levels. This website provides general information to assist the public with accessing Alaska public records where possible. However, it does not offer official court documents or provide legal advice.
